What do you do when a plumbing disaster arises? The very first thing is to make sure it is safe, and not getting even worse. Electricity and water don't combine safely, so if needed turn the power off on the power panel.
If water is leaking, turn the water off at the nearest access point and then at the mains tap outside. If you cannot locate the main isolation valve or a tap to the appliance, then turn on the cold taps inside and out to depressurise the system and reduce the leak.

Why is my faucet dripping?
If the drip is not bad enough to warrant repairing right now, you can try putting a folded cloth or sponge beneath it to minimise the noise. Alternatively knot a piece of twine around the tap spout long enough to touch the bottom of the basin, so that the drips slide down instead of falling.
